Join Us in Preserving
Michigan’s Legacy of Flight

We have an opportunity to unlock the rich history of Michigan aviation and to focus on the vision of an amazing future for our state’s aerospace & defense.

How? By building a new public access entry off of Rosso Highway directly into the hidden gem of our Selfridge Military Air Museum.

  • New Tourism Destination
  • Community Events Venue
  • Museum of Military Aviation with 1000s of exhibits
  • STEM Education Center
  • The epicenter for Local Economic Development and Growth
  • Recruiting & Marketing showplace for Michigan’s Hometown Air Base

Selfridge Air National Guard Base – 105 years of pioneering aviation and leading our nation’s defense as one of our nation’s original & oldest continually operating military airfields

What’s it all about?

Who? – a cooperative effort between the museum, base, county, community, state, and federal stakeholders.

When? – ready to proceed as soon as resourcing permits.

Where? – Michigan’s Hometown Air Base.

Why? – to empower tourism, economic development, preserve history, educate and inspire the next generation, and provide a new Macomb County event destination.

How? – we need to raise approximately $3.5 million to underwrite construction.
