Base Access Pre-approval Forms
Selfridge Air Museum Access
Open Fridays, Saturday and Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through October 31, 2026. Group tours can be arranged on Tuesdays and Fridays or the weekend.
For security reasons, all individuals without a U.S. Government ID card, Common Access Card (CAC), or Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) card are required to have a mandatory security background check performed before they will be allowed access to the Base and the Museum. On-line pre-approval forms for base access is available (see forms below) but must be submitted a minimum of ten (10) days prior to your visit.
Mandatory requirements:
- Current and valid U.S. driver’s license (with the star “Real ID”)
- Current vehicle registration
- Proof of vehicle insurance
Visitors will be denied access if on a government watchlist, convicted warrant, warrant, or felon.
Approval for entry to Selfridge ANG Base to visit the Selfridge Military Air Museum requires visitors to proceed via a designated route directly to the museum. This entry approval does not allow said visitor(s) to access other Base areas.
You will be notified when the background check is completed and provided information on ‘how’ to access the base. Please check your SPAM folder, as these emails often get labelled as SPAM. The subject in the notification will be “Selfridge Air Museum Visit”. You may not receive notification of your base access approval until close to the date of your visit. So if you do submit your pre-approval request early, plan on attending the event and check for the approval email just before your event.
Foreign Nationals
Citizens of another country (both adults and children) require approximately 30 days’ advance notice. Please complete the Foreign Nationals request form below for access.
US Citizens Only
You must request pre-approval by filling out the form below for base entry. Please list all individuals 18 years of age and over accompanying you on your visit by clicking the Add Guest button. Individuals under 18 years of age do not need a background check and do not need to be included in this submittal.
You must submit the form to the museum no later than ten (10) days before your visit.
This advanced pre-approval will ensure the visitor will have a hassle-free entry experience.
