This type of Mobile Control Tower was used to provide Air Traffic Control services at locations where no control tower exists or the fixed control tower is not operational. It can be easily transported by road or by air, be installed with full operational capability in under 6 hours, and provides controllers with the minimum equipment necessary to rapidly launch and recover participating aircraft in the most expeditious manner.

This AN/TSW-7 was operated by the 235th Air Traffic Control Squadron based at Selfridge ANG Base from April 1997 to September 2001. The air traffic control center is connected to the base's control tower so you hear actual radio traffic for Selfridge.
